pear + ginger + parsley smoothie

i experimented with my blendtec this weekend and the results were quite delicious. as per usual, i scrounged what we had left as far as produce went and threw it all together to create this juice (which as so many ingredients, it was difficult to name.. i should really try to make juices with 2-5 ingredients, to keep it simple, but i never end up doing that. i want everything! can you blame me?)

now, if you don't have a blendtec (which you might consider since it basically replaces most kitchen appliances) you could juice the ingredients and then add the banana and pears in later with a blender, since they are hard to process.  you also could skip the coconut water, since you would already have juice as your liquid.

smoothie health benefits:

- high in vitamin C (protects your immune system, great for eyes, and even helps with skin wrinkling!)
- high in vitamin A (antioxidant, protects against infection and cancers)
- excellent source of fiber, iron, and beta-carotene
- rich in antioxidants
- great for cardiovascular health
- anti-inflammatory
- stimulates circulation
-good for indigestion and healthy bowels

pear + ginger + parsley smoothie

- 2 pears
- 3 carrots
- 1 kiwi
- 2 handfuls spinach
- handful parsley
- inch slice ginger
- coconut water
- 1 banana

directions:
put all ingredients in blendtec or vitamix blender and process until juiced!

or

place all ingredients through juicer except banana and pears. add juice and banana & pears and coconut water, if desired, to blender and process until smooth.

enjoy!

this is great, I love green smothies, I did a 5day green smoothie challenge a couple of weeks ago and never get bored of smoothies.
check my blog's section 'my tiny projects' for that :)

I think I may even get Lou to start juicing with this recipe! Yum!

ps. Do you have any 'spicy' juice recipes?

Yum! I usually have most of those things. Although...we don't keep fresh herbs a lot since they tend to go bad before we use/use all of them. Do you think I could sub some ground ginger? Dried parsley prob wouldn't do. Plus I am all about more veggies than fruit in my smoothies!
